María González Cárdenas is a small business owner. She is an Idaho certified court interpreter and her small business, Power of Translation serves various clients throughout Idaho since retiring from Boise State University. She earned her Bachelor’s degree and MBA at Boise State. During the last five decades, her community work focused on education and policy issues affecting Idaho’s Latinos.

Emily Wakild is a Professor of History and the Cecil D. Andrus Endowed Chair for the Environment and Public Lands at Boise State University. After teaching with Teach for America in Texas, she earned her PhD in Latin American history from the University of Arizona. Her award-winning book, Revolutionary Parks, has been published in English and Spanish.

Nosotras: Latinas in Idaho is a book that is long overdue. Gonzalez Cardenas and Wakild's collection of testimonios add an essential dimension to the history and culture of women in Idaho.

Dr. Maria Alicia Garza, Professor, President's Fellow, and Founder of Casita Nepantla, Boise State University

This book exemplifies the work that Idaho needs produced because today, more than ever, we are losing our first generation of Latinas and the history that goes with their work in addressing this essential ethnic community across Idaho.
